Schedule: Part-time, 45.5 hours per pay period

Responsibilities

Cleans and vacuums common areas on a daily basis.
Cleans resident s rooms, including bathrooms and replenish supplies on a daily basis. Dusts vents, light fixtures, and doors. Wet/dry mop tile floors and vacuum carpets.
Pick up soiled linen from linen room and bring to laundry area.
Occasionally climbs ladder to clean drapes and other elevated areas.
All beds must be cleaned on a monthly basis with one bed per day completed and total room cleaning at the same time. The monthly schedule is posted in each housekeeping room.
Cleans equipment and housekeeping room. Keeps housekeeping cart stocked with supplies. Replace vacuum bags and filters.
Assist with resident room transfers including moving beds and furniture.
Able to communicate (read, write, speak) in English.
Demonstrates sensitivity to resident s needs and maintain a kind and respectful manner.
Catholic Eldercare is committed to recognition and effective management of each resident s pain and suffering. Every employee (within the scope of their position) is responsible to seek relief for any resident observed to be in pain (physical, spiritual or otherwise) through therapeutic intervention (hand holding, physical touch, acknowledgement of discomfort) and reporting the discomfort to the appropriate staff.
Perform all duties in a manner that is consistent with quality standards, infection control, and safety measures, which includes using Standard Precautions, at all times.
Participate in in-service programs, mandatory training, and attend meetings in the interest of improving skills, acquiring knowledge, and meeting state and federal regulations.
Remain current on tuberculosis screening.
Work as a team member and adapt to changes in work assignments to meet resident and/or staffing needs.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Have the ability to work independently and dependably to maintain the cleanliness of the common areas and resident living areas.
Reading, writing and speaking English is a requirement of the position.
