We are looking to add a motivated individual to our manufacturing team.


PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:


The Material Handler moves parts to their next location timely and accurately, gets supplies from the supply room and other locations for welders and finishers, delivers tanks and parts between Inspection and Finishing, maintains daily delivery route and actively works to improve material handling processes.

Confers and advises departments and project personnel on inventory or inventory management related issues.

Experience with forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and/or overhead cranes, and can use machinery to carry parts to the next location.

Ability to read job tickets and identifying where in the facility the parts need to be staged next. Placing the parts in their proper location, signing paperwork and delivering the paperwork to the appropriate card box.

Identify and communicate errors with labeling or paperwork to the appropriate department and correct errors before moving parts.

Communicate with Welding Resource Manager and Leads throughout the day regarding changing requests.

Maintain the stock room, material storage and handling areas.

Manage consumables, dangerous goods/chemicals, or similar items.

Provide supplies to various welding and finishing departments and accurately use the VMI machines.

Coordinates with Assembly and Shipping/Receiving, by picking parts along with inventory organization, and cleaning the stock rooms.

Establishes routes and frequency of travel to keep jobs moving.

Works daily with and recommends improvements in 5S, material handling procedures and paperwork organization.

Self-starter willing to take initiative while open to communication from the Welding Resource manager or leads for work direction.

Flexible in other duties related to manufacturing such as grinding, deburring, tapping holes, etc.as directed by the Welding Resource Manager or Leads to meet deadlines or fill daily schedule.


QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY:

High school diploma or GED required

Ability to operate equipment used to move large parts
